Booking & Performance Policies

Thank you for considering Jon Wilson Magic for your event! Please review the following policies to ensure a smooth booking process.

Payment Options

What is the Booking Fee?
The booking fee is a percentage of the total package cost (not just the deposit) that covers administrative and processing expenses, including credit card processing fees (2.9% + 30¢ per transaction), booking consultations and event coordination, contract preparation and management, and calendar scheduling. This fee is non-refundable in all cases.

Option 1: Standard Payment Plan

  • 40% deposit secures your date
  • Remaining 60% due 14 days before event
  • 5% booking fee of total package cost

Option 2: Pay in Full Upfront

  • Reduced 3% booking fee of total package cost
  • More flexible refund options (see below)

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Note: Booking fees are non-refundable in all cases.

Standard Payment Plan:

Note: "Paid early" means final payment was made before the 14-day deadline.

  • 30+ days out: Deposit refunded minus 5% booking fee
  • 14-29 days out: Deposit retained (non-refundable). Final payment fully refunded if paid early
  • 8-13 days out: Deposit retained. Final payment fully refunded if paid early, otherwise non-refundable once received
  • Less than 8 days out: Non-refundable

Pay in Full Upfront:

  • 30+ days out: Full refund minus 3% booking fee
  • 14-29 days out: 80% refundable
  • 8-13 days out: 65% refundable
  • Less than 8 days out: Non-refundable

Rescheduling

  • Events may be rescheduled one time at no additional charge if notice is given at least 14 days prior to the original event date and payment has been made in full
  • Rescheduling requests made less than 14 days before the event are subject to availability and may incur additional fees

Force Majeure (Events Beyond Either Party's Control)

In the rare case of circumstances beyond either party's control (such as severe weather, natural disasters, power outages, venue closures, or government restrictions), both parties agree to make a good-faith effort to reschedule. Payments may be applied toward a future date, subject to availability.

Photography & Video Policy

Clients may film or photograph the performance only with prior permission. Please request permission in advance if you wish to capture the performance. Posting content to social media requires explicit written permission. Unauthorized social media posting is prohibited.

Performance Requirements

  • Performance Space: Adequate space and lighting must be provided for the performance
  • Setup Time: I require 15-30 minutes for setup before the performance begins
  • Travel: Events outside the Phoenix metropolitan area may require additional travel fees
  • Parking: Free parking must be provided at the venue

Weather & Outdoor Events

For outdoor events, a covered or indoor backup space is recommended in case of inclement weather. If weather conditions make performance unsafe or impractical, we will coordinate an indoor alternative or adjusted plan when possible.

Client Delays

If the event runs behind schedule, performance time may be adjusted accordingly. Extended delays do not guarantee extended performance time unless arranged in advance.

Safety & Respectful Environment

A safe, respectful environment is required for performance. Abusive behavior, unsafe conditions, or severe intoxication may result in the performance being paused or ended.

We accept credit cards, debit cards, and electronic payments securely processed through Shopify.
